COVID-19

At HCEOC our priority is the safety and health of our staff and service participants. Because of this, we are committed to taking an active role in preventing the spread of the virus. We have implemented a three-tier action plan which includes the creation of a response team to collect and disburse Covid-related updates. Our policies are informed by guidelines and recommendations from the State of Hawai‘i Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

All staff and volunteers are required to wear CDC-approved face coverings, sanitize frequently, and maintain a social distance of at least six feet at all times. Our offices in East and West Hawai‘i remain operational yet closed to walk-in traffic.

We have increased our cleaning schedule for vehicles and program sites. Passenger seats, door handles, and other high-touch surfaces are disinfected thoroughly before and after each workday as well as at every drop-off and service site.

We extend a sincere mahalo to our community partners and funders who have worked with us to meet the increasing needs in our communities during this crisis: the Hawai‘i Resilience Fund at the Hawai‘i Community Foundation, KTA Super Stores, Hawai‘i Island United Way, and Vibrant Hawai‘i.
