Youth Services

Language Arts Multicultural Program

This program provides assistance to under-achieving 3rd and 4th grade students in selected schools to improve their language, art, math and social skills, and help in the development of self-esteem and study habits.  Parents are included in the instruction and learning process.  Each center is staffed by a teacher and an aide.  Staff work under the direction of the classroom teacher during the morning hours.  Individual tutors assist students with completing their homework and a variety of projects and activities in the afternoon.  Acceptance into this program requires a referral from a teacher and completion of an HCEOC application form.
